This workshop will include an introductory class in Dalcroze Eurhythmics at adult level in order to give a physical understanding of some of the underlying concepts. There will be a mock children’s class and a session on early childhood movement development, both of which will incorporate lots of ideas for whole body movement for use within Early Years music sessions. Participants will be encouraged to expand their present repertoire by adding movement to known songs, as well as learning new songs. Ideas for playing for children’s movement will be discussed. Participants should wear loose clothing and be prepared to work in bare feet, gripper socks or jazz shoes.
